Expert Reviews

Expert reviews:

The 2019 BMW X7 finally gives the German automaker a proper three-row crossover SUV, one with a dazzling interior and suitably swell seating.

Pros
Three-row space
Proven engines
Luxurious interior
Standard all-wheel drive

Cons
That face, oh that face
CarPlay should be included
Price bound to skyrocket
Active safety tech costs extra

The X7 is an all-new BMW model. The 2019 BMW X7 comes with all wheel drive. Available transmissions include: 8-speed shiftable automatic.

Pros
Strong engine performance
Smooth ride quality
Impeccable interior

Cons
Noticeable road noise
Expensive for the class

By:

The name sounds odd, but the Touareg offers a comfortable ride and spirited performance—something we all can understand. Its 3.6-liter V-6 makes 280 hp and is mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Touareg is large, comfortable, and solid—plus it’s equally at home both on and off the pavement. A standard touchscreen infotainment display is functional but dated; the optional adaptive cruise control and automated emergency braking, however, are well engineered and effective.
