The 2020 BMW X7's #5 ranking is based on its score within the Luxury Large SUVs category. Currently the BMW X7 has a score of 7.8 out of 10, which is based on our evaluation of 11 pieces of research and data elements using various sources.
Pros High-end cabin materials Many standard tech and safety features Muscular engine options Comfortable ride
Cons Steering feels too light
The most significant update to the 2020 X7 lineup is the new M50i model, which brings a more powerful version of BMW's twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 and other unique content. Otherwise the model-year changes are pretty minor. The top two trims feature more standard features such as soft-close doors, gesture controls, remote engine start, and more. In addition to some revised option packages, the X7 can now be equipped with five-zone climate control. With the introduction of the M50i, the regular 50i no longer offers the M Sport package.
Pros Smooth and robust powertrains, marvelously quiet cabin, seats are serenely comfy.
Cons Leans too much in corners, some rivals are roomier inside, painfully slow power rear seats.
The ultimate Audi crossover is convincingly sporty and properly useful.
Pros Suave and tech-savvy cabin, sporty and comfy ride, more useful than Audi sedans.
Cons Pricier than the more pragmatic Q7, distracting touchscreens, less fun to drive than Audi sedans.
The Audi Q8 is a luxurious, comfortable SUV but it isn't as sporty as its looks suggest, nor is it as practical as a Q7.
Pros Imposing looks Indulgent interior Advanced technology
Cons Numb handling Limited versatility Unproven ride comfort
Audi's Q7 is undoubtedly a practical three-row SUV, but maybe you find it to be a bit plain Jane when compared against sleeker rivals such as the Land Rover Range Rover or Porsche Cayenne.
Pros Comes well-equipped with many standard features Comfortable ride and seats for all passengers High-quality cabin Front and rear seats offer all-day comfort
Cons Less practical than the related Q7 New infotainment system can be distracting to use Throttle response is too slow in the default driving mode Limited interior storage space
