Expert Reviews

Expert reviews:

The 2021 BMW X4 is a crossover worth coveting, though our money would be on the more practical, cheaper, and really not much different X3.

Pros
Willing turbocharged engines
Balanced handling
Excellent interior tech
Lots of available safety gear
M versions especially fun

Cons
Mega price tag
So-so cargo space
So-so rear-seat human space
Style not for everyone

By:
thecarconnection.com

Newly standard equipment includes SiriusXM satellite radio, Android Auto compatibility, and several driver-assistance features. There are also some changes to the various option packages. The M40i’s turbocharged inline-six is impressive, but the 30i’s turbo four-cylinder provides plenty of power.

Pros
Entertaining to drive,
two powerful engine choices,
design-forward exterior.

Cons
Costs more than the X3,
less cargo space than X3,
tighter on rear-seat room than X3.

No significant changes for 2021.

Pros
Both available engines are smooth, powerful and fuel-efficient
Easy personalization thanks to abundant standard and optional features
Impressive handling for an SUV

Cons
Sloping roofline compromises rear headroom and cargo space

The 2021 Toyota Sequoia comes with a 3 yr./ 36000 mi. basic warranty, a 3 yr./ unlimited mi. roadside warranty, and a 5 yr./ 60000 mi. powertrain warranty.Nightshade package debuts with blacked-out exterior trim.

PROS
Cargo area is one of the largest in this class
For a big SUV, it rides pretty comfortably over bumps
Flexible seating arrangement allows for up to eight passengers
Respectable off-road capability for a big SUV

CONS
Even among large SUVs, fuel economy is poor
Audio controls and front central cupholders are hard to reach
Recently updated infotainment system already feels dated

By:
edmunds.com

For 2021, the sole change to the Sequoia lineup is the addition of the new Nightshade model. Essentially an appearance package, it features black 20-inch wheels and darkened chrome on the grille, door handles, side trim, and badging. The Nightshade Sequoia also has black leather upholstery and is available in Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray, and Midnight Black.

PROS
Third row is roomy enough for adults,
plenty of standard driver-assistance tech,
potent and proven V-8 powertrain.

CONS
Unimpressive interior,
unrefined ride,
underwhelming fuel economy.
