Expert reviews:

The 2019 Genesis G70 is an all-new compact luxury sport sedan with a fun-to-drive character for a bargain price. Genesis is a new face in the luxury car game, but we've been largely impressed with the brand's other vehicles for offering a lot of value for money. The G70 is no exception, with a capable 2.0T entry-level trim and exciting 3.3T model.

Pros
Sporty, fun-to-drive character
Some excellent upscale design touches
Excellent warranty coverage
Lots of features and tech for the price

Cons
Manual transmission isn't as engaging as it could be
Some cabin materials are subpar for the class
Infotainment screen out of a Hyundai
Cramped back seat

The 2019 Genesis G70 is a performance bargain that improves upon the dynamics of ts Kia Stinger cousin but lacks its space.

Pros
Potent V-6
Optional 6-speed manual
Exceptional on-road dynamics
Exceptional warranty
Aggressive looks...

Cons
...but are they over the top?
Smaller than Kia Stinger cousin
Firm ride
Not particularly fuel-efficient

The G70 is the first real sports sedan from Hyundai's luxury Genesis brand, and it's quite good for a first attempt. Using a rear-wheel-drive setup shared with the Kia Stinger, the G70 is aimed squarely at the legendary BMW 3-series.

Pros
Looks like a sports sedan and acts like one, too;
power flows freely;
interior design executed right;
settles down when asked.

Cons
Unnecessary brake-based handling “aid,” short on rear-seat legroom.
